For Parental Control Software, we recommend Safe Eyes from safeeyes.com. It is easy to use and is feature rich.

For AntiVirus protection, we recommend Kaspersky AntiVirus. Kaspersky is by the far the quickest responder to new threats. This purchase entitles you to virus protection for two computers for the price of one. What I really like about it is how well it scores in test, yet it doesn't take up near the resources as Norton and Mcafee; which both really slow down your system.

For Spyware protections, we recommend Spyware Doctor. I have used both Spyware Doctor and SpySweeper as my all the time protection. They both perform very well; however, I have had better luck with Spyware Doctor in tough situations. Some aspects of Spysweeper can cause novices headaches. That is why I recommend Spyware Doctor.

For a great online and offsite backup solution, we recommend iBackup. You can back up locally to other hard drives, external hard drives, CDs, DVDs, Flash drives, etc; however, if you have mission critical data that you could just not stand to lose via theft, fire or other natural disaster, you may want to set up an iBackup account.
